The connection between losing weight and the health of your liver
One of the major functions of the liver is to metabolise fat so if your liver is not working as well as it could be , you may not lose as much fat as you should be able to.  To improve your liver function you need to supply the right nutrients through both food and supplementation.

The liver is a very complex organ and has many functions such as the metabolism of alcohol, fat and cholesterol.  If your liver is in poor shape you may be able to feel a slight pain at the site of the liver - the area on your right hand side just below your rib cage.  Another indicator of poor liver health may be high cholesterol levels; cholesterol is made and broken down by the liver so poor liver health may result in poor cholesterol breakdown leading to high cholesterol levels.

You can improve your liver function by ensuring you are supplying it with the nutrients it needs for optimum performance.  Foods high in antioxidants not only help the liver carry out its detoxifying processes, but they also help protect the liver from damaging free radicals.  Foods high in antioxidants include prunes, raisins, blueberries, blackberries, kale, strawberries, spinach, raspberries and tenderstem broccoli.

In order to lose weight as well as eating well (not dieting!) on a regular basis you may want to consider a supplement that supports the liver particularly one that assists in the handling of fats in the liver such as HEP 194 (liver health complex).

HEP 194 Liver Health Complex is a specialist combination of nutrients aimed at supporting the liver.  It may particularly assist the handling of fats in the liver and contains beta sitosterol with the lipotropic nutrients choline and inositol.
•    Choline is involved in the metabolism of cholesterol
•    Choline and inositol are required for the breakdown of fats in the liver
•    Inositol is used by the body in the regulation of cholesterol
HEP 194 also contains apple extract, methionine and biotin

•    Phloridzine from apple extract is a potent antioxidant, apple extract itself may help support the function of the gallbladder
•    Methionine and choline are required by the liver to help breakdown by-products of protein metabolism
•    Biotin is essential for the metabolism of fats

So to improve your liver function in order for you to be able to lose as much weight as you should be able to you need to eat the right nutrients and take the right supplements.
